I thought maybe you would like to see some of the things we did in Hawaii.
I wanted to show you these beautiful flower I got for my birthday from Dan & Susan.  They make the whole room smell wonderful!

I have had a terrific birthday this year.

Thanks to all of you for remembering me & making it great. I am so proud of each of you!

88th Birthday Fun

I have been encouraged to create a blog, and thought I would give it a try. Perhaps it will help me to leave something of a personal history that my family will enjoy.  So here goes.

This year, for my birthday I turned 88.  Its the first time I have done that & I can't believe it. Dad gave me a "Whale" of a birthday present, which worked out well because at the time I was in Hawaii.  I got to go on a cruise out of Ma'alea Harbor in Maui to see dolphins & humpback whales. On my birthday, Nona, Colby, Barbie, John & Emily boarded the Odyssey with me.  It is a catamaran that belongs to the Pacific Whale Foundation.  It was a big, stable sight-seeing boat.  We could sit or walk around, or go inside & watch out the window.  There was a whale expert from the foundation who told us about the area, the whales & what we were seeing, as well as answered our questions. We saw many whales as they jumped (breached) & tried to get each others attention.  We also saw a group (5) dolphins that swam alongside the boat within about 6 feet of where I was sitting--if I had a stick, I could have poked them (but then I would have been arrested). They were beautiful!

Love to all! I will write more later.
